New job, Saturdays and motorcycles….
Good morning Tumblr. Happy Saturday!
I just finished the first full week of my new job. So far so good. Although I am liking this new job thus far, I really do not like the whole waking up so early part. I haven’t had to be up so early for a job in YEARS. Plus I have to leave almost an hour before I start work due to traffic. Ugh. The commute doesn’t really bother me so much as the fact that it is less time I can sleep. I am a night owl and no matter what I did this week, I was still never in bed before midnight.
At some point this weekend, I need to find a few items to personalize my office space. It’s a cubicle, but a large fancy cubical. Any ideas?
Saturday - it felt so good to sleep in this morning. Even though I woke up fairly early, I didn’t have to get up right away, get ready and such. That is very nice! It is suppose to be in the upper 80s today here in FL. Man, I’d love a bit cooler weather, a change in seasons. Not to be in Florida. Of course, it is beautiful here.
After a first week of a new job, sleeping habit changes, eating schedule changes and such, you’d think I’d just stay home and relax today. Nope, I am heading out on the motorcycle for a bit. Gonna ride with some friends and check out the inaugural bikefest in Lakeland. Bikefest really are neither here nor there to me. I enjoy the riding to them with friends and of course, checking out all the different motorcycles people ride. It’ll be a nice day!

Another day in my life…. Saturday
Yes, it is Saturday. A day most people take off work to play, do errands or what have you. Saturday’s for me have somewhat lost their meaning as of late. I have been searching very proactively to locate new employment. I find this very time consuming and very challenging. It is like having a full-time job just doing the online searches and then additional research on companies and opportunities. It is something I seem to think about and work on practically 24/7. It is amazing to me find what employers are requiring, what they are actually willing to pay in terms of salary for these requirements and the timeframe for interviewing hiring. The Internet has allowed employers and future employees to find potential opportunities in a mere second. Unfortunately, the Internet has also created a traffic jam of resumes for each position out there. The Internet has also created a very cold and non-personable environment for the connecting of employer/employee. This is truly a shame. Although, it makes it quite interesting to creatively come up with methods to stand out and be noticed. I am quite surprised by what I’ve come across in my searching; and, yes it can be quite discouraging at times. I am forever hopeful though and know that as long as I keep being proactive, the right opportunity will present itself.
Anyway, I’ve been job hunting for a few weeks now. It is an interesting challenge most definitely. I finally took a day entirely off and decided motorcycle therapy was needed. I got my Yamaha Vstar Classic 1100 out of the garage and headed north via the countryside. I ended up eventually in Cedar Key, FL. I haven’t been up that way in years and have had the locale on my mind. The beauty of it was quick to clear my head and create calm over my soul. There wasn’t much going on during a Thursday afternoon. People out fishing mainly. When I stopped to eat, the people were friendly and the food was delicious. I love the water and seems everywhere to eat there has a water view. This was just the ticket I needed.
It was a bit chilly on that more northern coast of Florida. Should have prepared better as far as riding goes. Didn’t realize my jacket was without it’s liner. That made for a very chilly ride home as it got dark. I’ll be heading South I think for my rides from now on.

As for what I’ll do today. Well, the day is more than half done and I sit here on my computer, still searching for that right career opportunity. The only break I’ve actually taken today is actually right now, to rattle off a few words here. I will have to stop the search eventually today as well, I have the typical weekend errands and chores to accomplish.
Yes, this is just a typical day in my life right now. :-)
Cedar Key, FL 11/8/12 via motorcycle
