Took a couple of photos after the late performance of The Thrilling Adventure Hour.  Thanks Paget Brewster (photo taken by Anne’s phone) and Marc Evan Jackson (photo taken by Marc Evan Jackson on my iPhone) for the photo op.

This show is so freaking funny!  Can’t wait to go back!

Criminal Minds Season Premiere

** If you haven’t watched this weeks Criminal Minds Season Premiere, you may want to wait on reading this. Though I won’t mention really any specifics, I will make references of things I enjoyed and such and that could ruin your viewing. **

So I sat down tonight and watched the Season Premiere from last night’s Criminal Minds. Admittedly, though I love the show (been a loyal fan/show watcher since the very beginning), I was hesitant to the change of Paget Brewster’s exit and Jeanne Tripplehorn’s entry. As Penelope Garcia said on the episode, I don’t like change…. for me it’s especially true when they mess with my favorite shows!

I’ll say that I did appreciate how the mentioned the Emily Prentiss character as still included in the BAU “family” by having Morgan and Garcia just arriving back from the UK and visiting her. That was a nice touch and did help me at least, with the sting of that character’s absence. As for the new Alex Blake character only time will tell. I admit that I have never been a Jeanne Tripplehorn fan and perhaps it’s because she has never had a character I really liked that I’ve come across. Perhaps it’s something else. With that said, I do love Criminal Minds and the whole team. It’s the team and the team dynamic of the characters that keep me so interested in this show. So, I’ll definitely be sticking around and sure hope I get to like this new character.

The season opener case was good and as usual the team was amazing. I also appreciated how the show’s writers worked in the awkwardness of missing a former team member and gaining a new one. I appreciate that the writers are having some of the team mimic basically the ambiguity that the audience is feeling right now (well, at least I am) about this new team member. We will just have to wait and see.

As for the amazingly talented Paget Brewster, I also watched tonight her Law & Order:SVU episode and she great.  The episode was great. Admittedly, I was not thrilled how her character ended; yet, I did suspect it. Excellent job though. And yes, it was nice to see Paget Brewster in something else. However, if you really want to see her in something fabulous and you’re in Los Angeles, check out The Thrilling Adventure Hour (http://thrillingadventurehour.com/) That show is awesome, with some unbelievably talented people and Paget Brewster is incredibly funny.

Thanks for reading!

Saturday night with Criminal Minds….

** No spoilers specifically from finale episode included. **

Got home this Saturday night about 8:30pm. Hopped on the computer a bit, debated going back out, decided to stay in for the night, ate supper and sat down to watch some tv. Decided to FINALLY watch this Season’s Criminal Minds Finale. Just finished about forty-five minutes ago. What an amazing finale!

Admittedly, I had been putting off watching the finale as I knew Paget Brewster was leaving; and though I wish her well in her new beginning and am excited to see what she does next, I love the Emily Prentiss character and was delaying seeing her parting episode. I so hated it the first time she was gone when she was “killed.” Hated too then that they got rid of the JJ character. So glad someone wised up, however I am digressing. So anyway, now even though Paget Brewster is leaving on good terms and such, I will still miss her character. Paget Brewster gave us a gift in creating a feeling that Emily Prentiss has become an old friend. So, I felt as if I was losing a dear old friend at the end of the finale. Way to go Paget Brewster. By the way, Paget Brewster leaving is no spoiler, it’s been all over the internet, twitter, facebook, etc.

I have watched Criminal Minds avidly from the beginning. Crime shows are my favorite and this one was a fav right off the bat! It is my Number One favorite show (it took over for Crime Scene Investigation once Bill Petersen was gone). I even stuck with it though I was not fond of the initial Elle character (just my personal opinion). I loved the other characters and the cases. The minute Elle was gone and Prentiss came on the scene, I was enthralled again in the series, the cases and the character’s interpersonal interactions. I love the team as a whole, and though I may crush a little bit on the male team members (yes, even the character of JJ’s husband Will), my favs have always been the women of the show.

Anyway, back to the finale. Two hours seem to fly by and no, that was not because I was fast forwarding through commercials (sorry ad people). The episode just started and then *poof* it was over. What a wild ride of a finale. I don’t think there has ever been an episode of Criminal Minds that was quite so intense, so dynamic, so sensitive to the characters and the emotions of those characters and an episode that was so amazingly acted. I am sure the other episodes of this show are out there, yet when I think of episodes even similar they don’t measure up as to me what makes this episode different and standout (especially as a finale) is that there was a much lighter, happier ending. This was the icing on the cake of an amazing episode.

I won’t say more as I do not want to put any spoilers in here for fans that may come across my post and have been delaying the inevitable watching of the finale as I did. Now though I am free of Internet, Twitter and Facebook skimming and averting my eyes when I see anything about the finale - ha!

Oh and pay attention to the end quote/statement of the finale. It seemed to me not to just merely be a character giving an ending, yet a true reflection of the actor and what lies ahead.

As for Paget Brewster, you will be missed on Criminal Minds for sure. Thanks for sharing your talent with us all as the character of Emily Prentiss. I wish you all the very best and hope that whatever you are searching for and desire to do comes about quickly for you. I’ll watch out for what you do next as I think you are a wonderful actress. Until you are on my screen again, I still have Sadie Doyle to catch on The Thrilling Adventure Podcasts in the “Beyond Belief” segments! (If you haven’t checked them out via iTunes or the website, check out the Thrilling Adventure Hour NOW - very funny!)

Criminal Minds - I can’t wait for next season. Though I will miss the character of Emily Prentiss, I love the whole team and can’t wait to see what next season brings. I love a few shows, and yes some more than others, yet Criminal Minds is my definite #!! See ya’ll next season!

PS -I was just thinking, I own very little entertainment memorabilia - I own a signed/framed Fringe Poster, I own a framed/signed pic of Bill Petersen/Marg Helgenberger from CSI and I own two wonderfully awesome signed/framed posters from the Thrilling Adventure Hour (from my March 2012 trip and live show attendance). The only thing I thought I may want was a Criminal Minds signed poster of the whole team. Even saw one a couple months back. Should have gotten it. Ah well. Maybe in the future.

Love them!!! Can’t wait to listen!!

Ah, Saturday!

I really love Saturdays.  There are no “have to” items generally.  You can choose to do chores, be lazy at home, take a daytrip, ride on the motorcycle, catch a good movie or do about anything.  It’s Saturday and for many that means no going to work!

This Saturday for me is so far about piddling around the house and being on the computer.  I slept in a little, had a late breakfast and then have been on the computer messing around for a while now.  I was toying with the idea of running down to the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida for the day.  It is now too late though.  Perhaps tomorrow.  I think soon I will take the motorcycle out a bit.  Or, perhaps catch a movie - I still haven’t seen The Avengers.  It’s so beautiful outside though I hate to not get out in it.

My precious ring is still lost, so I am trying to keep my mind off that.  I still can’t believe I lost it after 20+ yrs.  I really hope it’s in the car.  I’m 99% sure it is.  There is the lingering doubt however.  A friend is going to check it out further for me, yet can’t over the weekend.  He said that if the ring is in the car, it will be in the car still whenever we check it.  God I hope so.  Anyway, life goes on and yes, life isn’t about a ring; yet, that ring meant a lot to me.

So, I have been on the computer.  I did a little job searching, yet mainly I have been goofing off for my entertainment, reading Tumblr posts, catching up on Twitter & Facebook and then of course, reading some of the Interviews regarding Fringe and last night’s season finale.  It seems some interviews with the Producers were done prior to the finale yet could not be posted until after.  Good interviews.  Some clues about Season 5 (very few & vague) and some comments on the finale.  I really enjoyed the finale and definitely see how it could have been a series finale that also left me content, though imagining more. I am looking forward to Season 5 and am grateful to have the thirteen episodes for the amazingly talented writers, producers to wrap up the story.  I do wish we had more though, but alas, that is life.  We always want more of a good thing.  Who wouldn’t?

I’ve caught two season finales so far.  Castle and then Fringe.  I sort of dreading Criminal Minds finale as I know Paget Brewster (aka Prentiss) is leaving this season.  I wish her well though and look forward to her future projects.  It’s very brave of her to leave a secured success like this.  Oh, and Castle, if you don’t watch it…. DO.  I am a tremendous crime show fan and though this is a bit lighter in some ways, it is a truly delightful and entertaining show.  The finale was absolutely perfect this season and not too cliffhanger-y. The interaction of all the characters is def what keeps me watching.  Well, more season finales to come.  I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year.  In tv land it is bittersweet.

Now, back to Saturday.  What to do with the rest of my Saturday?  Guess I am off this computer to go find out……………

A bright spot in my Saturday…..
Today was a day full of running errands and accomplishing misc chores.  Fun fun.
A bright spot came however when I got the call that some framing I had done was ready.
I am excited that today I went and picked up my framed posters I had signed when I was at the 7th Anniversary show of The Thrilling Adventure Hour!  Many of the cast signed the main poster and then Paget Brewster “Sadie” and Paul F. Tompkins “Frank”, signed twice with signing also the “Beyond Belief” poster.  I couldn’t be happier.  Can’t wait until they are on the wall.
BTW - The picture does not do the posters and framing justice at all (taken with iPhone).  I’ll add a better picture once they are hung on the wall!

What to do at work on Tuesday….

Good morning. Have an excellent Tuesday no matter what part of the day you may be in!

I am fortunate in one respect at work in that I mainly work alone in the office and can have the television on, the radio or one of my favorites… my iPod with whatever music or podcasts I choose to listen to as I work.

Today I am listening to my iPod and enjoying the podcasts of the Thrilling Adventure Hour.  I am right now listening to some repeats of “Beyond Belief” with Paget Brewster and Paul F. Tompkins.  I seem to find them always funny, even as repeats.

Earlier this morning I listened to the new podcast, #62 “Cactoid Jim, King of the Martian Frontier, ‘Space Coach’” (http://thrillingadventurehour.com/Blog.html).  It was very funny.  Of course, I also feel a bit behind in the storytelling as when I say Thrilling Adventure Hour live on March 3rd, they also then had a Cactoid Jim episode, yet it was further along in the story line than I was via podcast.  It was a hilarious podcast starring Nathan Fillion, Busy Philipps as the main characters this episode. Picture from the Cactoid Jim latest episode is below (from the Thrilling Adventure Hour website).

Paget Brewster and I after the 7th Anniversary Thrilling Adventure Hour live show last Saturday night (March 3).  As so happens, Paget Brewster performs in my absolute favorite segment of the Thrilling Adventure Hour called Beyond Belief (along with Paul F. Tompkins & others).  I have laughed hysterically (usually at work) to the podcasts of the show which includes the Beyond Belief segments for a long time now.  In addition, admittedly I am a huge Criminal Minds fan since.
It was such a delightful treat to meet Paget Brewster after the Thrilling Adventure Hour show.  She was quite approachable and didn’t hesitate to sign not one but two posters for me (the general show poster and then the Beyond Belief poster).  She also graciously indulged me in taking a photo.  It was truly one of the many highlights of my evening to meet her and chat briefly.
As I mentioned before, I am not an easily “star-struck” person and there are very few people that are famous or rather celebs that I would want to meet.  And, I do not go searching for celebs either (no, not even when I happen to visit LA).  Honestly, I was not “star-struck” per se to meet the actors I did after the show.  I did enjoy meeting all of them, yet was not dumbfounded or awestruck as I see others get.  They are people after all. I admit however, that it was a true highlight that the opportunity arose for me to meet an actress whose acting I enjoy and admire, Paget Brewster.
Though Paget Brewster will be missed from Criminal Minds, I truly wish her all the best and will definitely check out any future project she is involved in.
I am also hoping that I can make at least one more Thrilling Adventure Hour show this year!  I do enjoy it so.  It’s a long way from Florida though.
 Check it out people! http://thrillingadventurehour.com/
